Guest Writer’s Guidelines and Policies
Submit your original articles for consideration.
We’re excited to see your interest in writing for Best Alzheimer’s Products! We are always looking for fresh perspectives and authentic stories to share with our readers. That being said, we are very picky about the content we post on this site. If you would like to submit a guest post please read the following guidelines and policies first.
If you are a family member or professional caregiver that has a story to tell but doesn’t want to write a fully developed article this isn’t the place for you. We want to hear your story but please share in the comments section at the bottom of the appropriate page or blog post. If you are a writer (amateurs included) , blogger or expert in some area related to dementia or elder care, please read on.
We will post most any topic we think our readers will benefit from, even if it doesn’t fit within our normal guidelines. However, most articles (written by us as well) are based on the following:
- Best Alzheimer’s Products covers topics on Alzheimer’s, Dementia, caregiving, alternative therapies, non-medical therapy, and quality of life, just to name a few. We do follow advances in the scientific and medical field as they pertain to dementia, like drug trials and brain studies.
- We do not promote drugs, medical products or procedures, though we like to keep abreast of medical and scientific developments.
- Our goal is to better the lives of people on both sides of the dementia care equation. Every post is written with this in mind.
- We will not post blatant advertisements or articles that contain more that a few hyperlinks.
- Only original content will be posted. (if it’s already published somewhere on the web, we will not publish it)
- Guest posts are unpaid.

Some benefits of guest posting on Best Alzheimer’s Products
Build your brand while practicing your craft. Best Alzheimer’s Products is one of the most trusted voices on the internet when it comes to dementia care. But, most of the articles you read here are in our voice. We welcome new views and new styles. We have been doing this a long time, years before we even started this website, but we can’t see everything. Please contact us to contribute, but be sure to follow the guidelines posted here.
Expectations
- Your guest post should be well-written – please make sure to proof read and edit.
- We prefer learning through stories. Please think about one or two good stories to include with your article, or around which to base your article.
- Your guest post should be useful to our readers. Our readers are both family members and friends caring for loved ones with Alzheimer’s and professional care providers.
- Your guest post should be unique.
- We stopped referring to people who have Alzheimer’s disease as “Alzheimer’s patients” some time ago, and ask that you do the same. A person with Alzheimer’s is “a person with Alzheimer’s”, or “a person who has Alzheimer’s disease”. You can see our justification for this, and more, in the article Let’s Stop Calling Them Alzheimer’s Patients and Saying That They are Suffering.
- That reminds me, people who have dementia are not “dementia sufferers”, or “suffering from Alzheimer’s”. They are “living with Alzheimer’s”, yes, but they are not always suffering. You thinking they are suffering will influence the way you act toward them, and that will cause suffering.
- Less objectionable, but still a little, is “caregiver”, which implies a hierarchy. Preferred is “care partner” or the British “carer”.

WHAT OTHERS ARE SAYING
- I just received a parcel of games, books and puzzles I ordered from you online. It only took a few days to get here which is pretty amazing. I think I wait longer than that for things to be delivered within my own country! But I digress, I wanted to say thank you very much. My mother is now going through the box, I’ve not seen her so animated in a while. She’s in the later stages of Alzheimer’s/Dementia and spends a lot of her time just sitting around not doing much and I’ve found it extremely difficult to find things that are suitable to keep her occupied and engaged. So much of what she used to be able to do and enjoy is now beyond her and although she tries, it just creates frustration for her. This cache of goodies looks like it’s going to be the solution, thank you Joanna Carter
I have a compilation of emails between my sister, our families, and my best friend which tracts and traces the progression of my Aunt Marie’s losing battle with Alzheimer’s. Though most seem to be flit and comic, they are eventually shown to be the toll this disease takes on it’s chosen one…in any event…sometimes things just seem absurd, other times maddeningly frustrating, wildly entertaining, eventually pure devotion, and in the end blessed with compassion and wisdom…I am a professional photographer, though at the time the photographs taken were pure impulse and instinct and not a thing of quality. I never even thought of the moment…it just happened and there was a camera of one sort or another at hand…I am wondering if this journey of 2 years might be of any value to the community? It is written to my sister, our kids, and friends almost in a story form, sometimes pure dialogue, other times musings, other times in an agony of distress…my sister, Eve’s, responses and additions got lost in a debacle of some sort or another concerning her computer…we called what we had left “Rats and Jackasses” because that’s what Aunt Marie called us when she got left with nothing else to call us…she was an interrupter for the government during WWII, spoke 4-5 languages, was a lady back in the day that had a quite specific style assigned to it, yet the illness took it all away and left Uncle Art, her always devoted husband aghast…though he adapted as necessary…she loved him and knew him until the end and it was only Uncle Art who anchored her in safe harbor when everyone else had sailed off somewhere she couldn’t follow…
Dear Sandra,
I tried to reply directly to your email, but the address you provided was not found – the email bounced. Hopefully you will see this.
I read your comment with fascination. I applaud you and your family for the way you all handled this most difficult situation. Of course I am interested, and I am sure our community would be interested. Please let me know what you have in mind…
Kind regards and best wishes for a Happy New Year,
John
I am a regular reader of your blog “Best-alzheimers-products” and I am interested in writing an unique blog post with the title: “Tips to select a dementia care home”. The post is of 500+ words and unique.
Since you already publish guest posts from diverse writers in your corner, I thought it would be nice if I too had an opportunity to present your online journal’s followers with something of genuine worth.
