One of the biggest challenges for health-care professionals and home caregivers is the issue of maintaining meaningful communication with a memory-impaired adult. Shadowbox Press books offer a variety of titles that are designed to provide an easy and effective way to improve the quality of communication between caregivers and memory-impaired adults. They have been developed to evoke memories, initiate conversation, and supply mental and physical stimulation. Our books are comprised of three unique sections: The STORY, CONVERSATION STARTERS, and ACTIVITIES.
“These books are an excellent resource for care partners interested in connecting and sharing with someone who has dementia. They have great themes, well designed photos combined with limited but focused words and of equal importance information for care partners on how to use the books and how to engage the person. Each book has a variety of ways in which it can be used. Each one offers ideas and suggestions for those who may not be familiar with dementia or common issues that limit the person’s ability to be like they used to or do what they used to. It is very helpful to have props and resources that are simplified, NOT babified to use when what was, is no more. NICELY DONE!”

Price a bit high, but worth it all when my mom responded so well to it.
We have difficulty making it to church on Sundays, so I try to have “house church”” for mom by singing hymns and reading some scripture together. Then we pray for the grandchildren one by one. Recently, she is having more difficulty following the meaning of the scripture. This interactive book is great for being just the right amount of scripture for her to read. Immediately she began to talk about the lovely photo, and was engaged as I asked the facilitatory questions. It really allowed for us to have a more meaningful time of intentional worship together.”
Price seems a little high, but I really liked the product.
