Please excuse the quality of this video clip – a better video clip is on it’s way!
This 30 minute exercise DVD has gentle exercises and stretches combined with a senior sing along to favorite nostalgic tunes. This engaging video can often turn the agitated or depressed mood of someone with dementia into calm moments of relaxation and enjoyment. Music Therapy and Dementia has been formally studied since the early 1950’s but only recently have those studies been focused on activities for the elderly. This DVD combines the best of Music Therapy with easy exercises to engage the person in a focused social environment.
Music Therapy and Dementia has been formally studied since the early 1950’s but only recently have studies focused on activities for the elderly. This DVD combines the best of Music Therapy with easy exercises to engage the person in a focused social environment. A session with Nancy Turco can often turn the agitated or depressed mood of someone with dementia into calm moments of relaxation and enjoyment.
The Senior Exercise and Harmonize DVDs involve stretches and gentle exercises all performed while sitting in a chair. There is no need for special equipment, just a chair to sit in. Aerobic chair exercise is a safe and effective intervention for frailer older people. The exercises will help increase strength, power, flexibility and balance, and decrease depression, fatigue and falls. These DVDs are great for persons suffering from dementia, Alzheimer’s Disease, arthritis, Parkinson’s, TMI (Transient Ischemic Attack), strokes and any chronic condition that prevents someone from being active. Reminiscing old favorite songs while exercising helps to focus the participant’s attention on enjoyment rather than repetitious exercises. It’s great recreational therapy for seniors.

Ed –
Great!
I’m a big fan of this video. It’s realistic and seems like a friend your’re with vs. a huge hollywood production. Love the approach and it worked very well for us.
/ Thanks, Ed. We’ve always thought the same about these friendly videos. BAP
