It is a funny thing about Alzheimer’s and many other causes of dementia that memories are lost in reverse order. Memories formed recently are more fleeting than those from many years ago. Older memories are available even into later stages of Alzheimer’s disease. Because of this, niostalgia is potentially very potent for people who have dementia.
